Where is San Jose Del Cabo?

How do I get there?

The airport code is SJD and the flight is about 2 to 3 hours from the west coast and 4 to 5 hours from the east coast of the United States

What is the weather like?

The area is a dessert with warm days and pleasant nights. Average air temperatures: 50 to 80º F. winter; 70 to 100º F. summer.
The Pacific Ocean side of Los Cabos is generally 10º F. cooler than the Sea of Cortés
July, August and September are the hottest months in the Pacific.Storm season is July to October which brings rain and high surf. The coolest months are in December and January but cool still means beach weather.

 Can I use US dollars?

 

Yes you can use bills but not coins

What is the local currency?

The pesos is the national money of Mexico. You may see “MN” which means “moneda nacional”, or “national money”.Exchange of currency is best transacted at Banks or Money Exchange houses that can usually be found on main streets.

The peso bills are $20, 50, 100, 500, 1000 approximately in US rates - $2,5,10,20,50 and 100 dollars. The coins are called ‘moneda’ or ‘change’. Most common pieces are $10,5,2,1,.50,.20,.10. The 10 piece is about the same as a dollar and the .50 as a nickel.

All Mexican banks will exchange US dollars for pesos and vice versa. Most banks now have a requirement of presenting passport as id. All banks now have ATM’s and accept most widely used credit cards. Avoid banking on the 15th and 30 or 31st of the month as these are ‘paydays’.

 

How do I get around?

We suggest to enjoy you trip to the fullest you rent a car. But you may also choose your preference- local buses, rental cars, ATV, taxis, or on foot. To rent a car, you must be 21 and have a valid driver’s license.Vans and taxis are available on the street and hotel. From the airport they have fixed prices, other wise they are negotiable. Seat belts for front seat passengers are mandatory

Is the water safe?

We recomment to  avoid worry, always drink bottled water instead of tap water.
